Interior Designer Announcement | Meadows Mile Professional Centre

We are pleased to introduce our Interior Designer for the Meadows Mile Professional Centre, Jerilyn Wright & Associates.

Jerilyn is a well-respected and prolific designer in the Calgary development scene. JWA has "completed over 13 million square feet of redesigned space", while maintaining a steady reputation as a leader in the industry, since incorporating in 1984.

"At Jerilyn Wright & Associates Interior Design Consultants, our commitment to continuous learning enables us to provide you with the latest information on trends, ergonomics, materials, green considerations and energy conservation. Transforming your space will enhance productivity, frame of mind and energy levels. Good design is good business."

An example of JWA's work on the Arcis Seismic
Solutions corporate space.
JWA will design the common areas of the building. These common areas are spaces like the entryway, elevator lobby, stairwells and hallways. As we've said before, we believe these common areas are an opportunity to create a space that our tenants can be proud to own. JWA shares this sentiment, going so far as to say that, "your personal or corporate space should be considered your most important asset; one that truly captures the essence of who you are and positively affects how you work, play and live."

Another example in JWA's own office space.
By partnering with JWA, we are ensuring that none of these common areas will be considered 'generic'. These spaces will be innovative and unexpected, yet they will feel like Home.

Jerilyn has demonstrated her experiential knowledge with the specific type of design required for medical offices. She has highlighted that there was a learning curve in her earlier medical developments, but JWA now holds the skill-set to plan medical spaces to their greatest efficiency and function -- while still creating a signature space. For tenants, she will be an excellent asset, should they choose her to design their personal suite(s).

We truly are thrilled to be working with Jerilyn Wright and Associates. We can't wait to share what we come up with together.

Meeting With Interior Designers | Meadows Mile Professional Centre

We have been meeting with prospective Interior Designers for the Meadows Mile Professional Centre, specifically for the purpose of designing the base building's common spaces.

The Professional Centre offices are condominiums, which means that, on top of their own private suites, tenants will also have partial ownership of the common areas in the building. These common areas are spaces like the entryway, elevator lobby, stairwells and hallways. We want these common areas to have the same level of overall design appeal that our architectural designer Andrew Martchenko from Parataxis has achieved with the exterior.

We believe these common areas are an opportunity to create a space that our tenants can be proud to own. Too often, common areas only fulfill the base requirements: Generic carpet, tile and paint; basic lighting fixtures; etc. We want to create a space our tenants will want to spend time in. These spaces can showcase local artists and fabricators; we can find innovative ways to light these spaces; we can use unexpected textures to pay homage to the stunning natural views -- With a blank canvas to work with, there are infinite possibilities.
This is the main floor plan of the Meadows Mile
Professional Centre. The top potion of the rendering
is common area space, whereas the bottom space
would belong to the tenant(s) whose suite(s)
will be built to their personal specifications.

At this point we have met with some prospective Interior Designers, but we have yet to make any hard decisions. Interior designers are more than Decorators. Designers must also understand Space Planning and take into account the space's flow and the utility of an area -- right down to the placement of electrical sockets. They are a vital part of the consultant team.

Once we have the common areas designed, the tenants will have the opportunity to choose their own Interior Designer for their suite(s). We have alotted a generous $50/Sq. ft. allowance included in the purchase price for this purpose, although the overall design and design budget is up to the tenant. The tenant will have the opportunity to work with any designer of their choosing, however whichever designer we choose for the common areas will be offered to the tenants as well. By the time our designer is done with the common areas, they will have a unique understanding of the building and development as a whole, and a diverse network of consultants (who also understand the space) that can be utilized for the tenant spaces if need be.There are many advantages to using a designer who already understands the space.

We want to take away unnecessary stress. Designing your own, personal, professional space from the ground up should feel like an exciting opportunity. We want to eliminate any learning curve, and make the whole process user-friendly. You can bet there will be an announcement once we have our Interior Design Consultant chosen!
